Cape Bridgewater Coastal Camp

0

At Cape Bridgewater we did a range of activities that included:

Abseiling

You are at the top of a 27 meter cliff and you have to try and abseil off it until you are twelve meters down. It is pretty scary when you start but once you get the hang of it and get to the bottom part where you float down. It is pretty cruisy.

There is a rope that you have to hold onto to lower yourself down. You give the rope a bit of room and then you walk down until the rope has no room anymore and then you let the loose go but still be ready to grab onto it if you start falling.

Geo Caching

Geo Caching is a game were you use a GPS tracker to try and find tags. You start the game by putting in a code and then following the GPS tracker to find another tag that will have a new code to put back in your GPS tracker.

The prize that we got for this was a bag of Mars bars. There are ten tags and you have to get all of them to get the prize.

Snorkeling

This was probably one of the best activities for me personally because I really enjoyed swimming with seals because they always tried to creep up behind you so when you looked they would be there. You were allowed to pat the seals although no-one really could because the seals were too quick.

We had to take a boat to get to the snorkeling place and the boat was probably one of the best experiences I have ever had. Apart from getting wet we had heaps of air time.

Surfing

Surfing was really fun. You got the chance to catch a few waves and stand up because the waves weren’t that big. It was really fun watching people who swore that they couldn’t do it stand up. I have been surfing a few times so the waves weren’t that good for advanced but not everyone was advanced and they were good for the beginners.

Caving

Caving was fun but some people didn’t think so. It was a bit harder for the tall people when they were trying to get through the small gaps and slim walls. I really enjoyed this. If everybody turned their lights off then the whole cave went black.

Sand boarding

Sand boarding was fun although it was hard work getting the board up the hill just to have a quick ride down a very steep sand dune. It was fun but it was kind of scary when you can’t see the bottom because it was so steep. You had one go at halfway up the hill and if you completed that without being too scared you could go up the full way.

Free Time at the Beach

This was probably one of the most fun experiences that I ever had. Some of our group made a huge soccer field made completely out of seaweed. Some kids in another group made a huge sign on the ground saying MPPS in huge letters.

Week #26 (19)…I was so cross that…

0

My worst enemy and I were having an exhilarating fight. It so entertaining that there were heaps of bystanders just eager to hear the next offence that was going to be pulled. We were both calling each other names.

“Yo so fat that when you step, the ground rumbles.” My enemy teased at me. I was so cross that I said,

“Your so fat, you can’t even get into a classroom without knocking everyone over.” I replied. After that he replied quickly,

“I’m telling on you” I couldn’t believe it. He was such a snitch. He was doing the exact same thing to me. I  was going to be told off.

100wc…Week #23 (19) Include words…(see below).

1

I am including these words:

  • Red
  • Ladder
  • Sinking
  • Coins
  • Pavement

I was almost there! I had been working on it for hours and now I only had a few more bricks to go for the ceiling of the house. I had just had lunch break so I got back up on my ladder and I started climbing again when I got up there, I saw a few coins on the roof. There was some red dust on them so I wiped it off and I was just about to search up how much they were worth when I dropped them into the pavement and they started sinking in. I got down and quickly grabbed them. I got out my computer to see how much they were worth. I clicked enter then I couldn’t believe it. $1 000 000!

Week #21 (19)…(picture)(see below)…(edited)

1

I was almost there! Skipping along as I raced towards my friends house like I was in the 100 meter sprint! I roamed along taking long strides as I advanced a couple more meters towards it every second! Something fell behind me. I hoped it was nothing valuable because I didn’t care, I  just kept going! I finally got there! I rang the doorbell and waited for someone to answer. I also had another quick look through the things that I had brought. OH NO! My favorite thing ever! That is what I must have dropped. My poor, white teddy bear.

Week #20 (2019)- …it was completely out of tune…

1

Hi there. My name is Angus Young from the famous AC/DC and I will reveal to you how awfully out of tune my guitar can get. It all started one ordinary day. I was all set to go to band practice when I accidentally bumped my strings. It was a horrible noise… It was a terrible noise… In more straightforward words it was completely out of tune. I pondered my options. If I went back in I would be late for band practice. I decided to go and fetch my tuner anyway. If I was late, no doubt that they would understand.

My reflection of the 2018 school year

0

This year was a pretty good year. There were a few things that were good and a few things that I think that we could improve. Firstly I would like to mention all of the good things. I really like the way that we did all of the sport programmes like Gala Sport, Winter Sports and Sepep. The camp was a little bit boring but I think that it was pretty good. In preparation of year six we did some speeches for house captain and School Captain. I think that the systems for that was a bit unfair because the votes were only considered by the teachers but other than that writing the speech was fun. I think that the first literature circles was a bit boring because we had a limited choice on what book we wanted but then when it changed it was better because we wrote down preferences on what book we wanted to read in our literature circles time. I liked the fact that sometimes instead of using our books for work we got to use our computers and we got to do the lesson on OneNote. It allowed us to work quicker and more efficient because in my opinion typing is faster than writing it with a pencil. We also went on one of the most fun excursions of the year which was the public transport challenge. It was really fun. We got to visit a whole lot of places and learn facts about them. I think that the teachers this year were nice and they encouraged all of the students to their best. They also encouraged everyone to have good behaviour and be prepared for high school. We got to use our computers a lot more than we did in Grade 4. I remember going to school every day and hoping that we would use our computers. But now that we are in grade 5/6. It feels normal that we use our computers every day. In result I think that this year has been one of my best years at this school. I think that next year (being the leaders of the school) will be the year with the most fun in it.

100 Word Challenge

Santa Clause does not exist,

He doesn’t bring you presents,

You think it really is him,

But it’s actually your parents.

Father Christmas is a fake,

He’s a parent lie

They do it to get kids excited,

Then walk with a guilty ‘goodbye’.

Christmas is the best,

But Santa is not real,

Christmas is the best,

To me Santa does not appeal.

Don’t get me wrong,

Christmas ain’t bad,

It’s just we all fuss about presents,

And our myth the Christmas dad.

Christmas is the best,

Santa is not real,

Christmas is the best,

To me Santa does not appeal.

This BTN video

This video was about what slam poets are. In slam poetry there are no rules that you have to follow and you can write about any topic. At the start it is tricky to find words that fit together and that rhyme but once you practice you get better. Is slam poetry the only type of poetry that rhymes? Is slam poetry the most popular style? I now understand that at the start slam poetry is pretty hard but once you get more practice and get older. You will get better.

100 Word Challenge-poem

1

Once there was a guy. He had been knocked out so we asked him if he was okay. But he was exhausted so we sang him a poem.

We knew that one day, when you were older,

You would get hit by a boulder,

While you are lying there screaming come and help me please,

Some kids come and tease,

They tease about you getting knocked out,

You then got angry and decided to shout,

In the end, you are lucky we found you,

There are tigers around here and you would have been their food!
