I was sitting on my desk, feeling bored. I had been drawing for what seemed like years. I checked the time. Only a couple of minutes passed since I started. I decided that a good idea would be to write a story. I wondered what I should write my story about. It hit me like a bullet to the chest. ‘What about a story about a circle?’ I thought to myself, ‘What color should it be though?’ I thought about that for a long time. ‘GREEN.’ I confirmed. This story is going to be the best story that has ever been written.
Here I was! Looking at a miracle. It was a beautiful sight almost as good as pink lollipops that were a meter long. The next second it all went down the stairs. It wasn’t beautiful anymore. It was a nervous sight. It was a black river. It was terrible. All polluted. A few seconds ago it was beautiful. What how did that happen. Maybe it has got something to do with the sun. Yeah, probably! I’m cooked come to think of it. Suddenly, it struck. A huge lightning bolt came crashing down on top of the river. The answer stood right there.
“Ring! Ring!” The postman is here. I wonder who wrote me a letter this time. What if it is a birthday invitation. What am I talking about, I’m 34 years old. We don’t have birthday parties anymore. It is probably some bill that I haven’t paid yet. I have got a lot of those types of letters recently. The postman slipped the letter in to my hand. I said thank you and then opened it up. As I read the contents of the letter, I was aware of the smile on my face. It was a never ending smile. A birthday invitation.
I created this graph about “HOW BIG ARE FAMILIES IN OUR SCHOOL” Using data from kids in my class. My drawing was close to the real one although I had it starting at the top and working clockwise from two-eight. Our class data gave me a good estimation on the how many family members from people in the school.
I am on the street. I don’t know where I am going. I guess I’m just wondering the shops. A guy in a black suit is walking down next to me. It is very awkward. It feels like he is following me. He nudges me. That was weird, a stranger just nudged me. “Hey,” he whispered to me, “I dare you to walk over to that guy and trip him up!”
“Why would I do that?” I asked him.
“Because it will be funny!” He said and then shortly after said, “DO IT OR ELSE!”
I am in class sitting on my chair, looking at the clock. Still 30 minutes until lunch. I have pins and needles. They hurt as walking through flames. My teacher is on her computer, (probably playing games secretly like she regularly does) and my friend is whispering to me. “If you jump out of the window,” He whispers, “I will give you ice cream, lime flavor!” He tells me in a whisper.
“Why would I do that?” I chuckle thinking that he’s joking.
“Come on, an ice cream is a serious reward. And jumping out of the window is only a small crime!” He says. I am startled. He is dead serious.
“No!” I say. I don’t want to jump out the window.
A magic door! It has been a lifetime since I once saw one of those! I wonder where it leads to? I hope it leads to a lollies world were everything is made out of lollies. Wait?! The door is dark blue. Is that a good sign or a bad sign? If that then why? I knew my friend should have come along with me because it would either scary or hard to make a decision. Should I go in or should I not. It is an impossible decision. Okay, I made up my mind. I’m going to go in…
“I dare you to look over the edge of that cliff!” Said my best friend Bobby. It was dark from beyond that point. I took a few steps closer. ‘Easy does it’. I kept saying to myself. So, as I looked over the edge, I saw a nothing. It was pitch black. A shiver went down my spine. I was really scared. Then my best friend charged at me. He bumped me. I fell. He had betrayed me. He was my best friend forever but not anymore. My last thought was: What will happen to me?!
“I can not believe you did that!” Screamed a teacher to a student. She was running after him because ‘apparently’ he wrote on the board when he wasn’t supposed too. They chased around the whole school. She picked up a knife. Let me say that again. SHE PICKED UP A KNIFE AND SHE WAS RUNNING AT HIM AT FULL MOMENTUM! She stabbed a tree. It was her favorite one. She was shocked at her actions. She still was angry however, she couldn’t believe what she had done. She was startled. What could she do? Would she ever get it back?
This Behind The News video was about two families who did a natural disaster experiment. They found out that the kids did better than the adults because the learnt about it in school. In a fire it is not safe to lock yourself in a room unaware of other rooms. You have to prepare if you have time. Why did adults not know to not drive in floods? How old was the youngest kid? I now understand that it is hard to stay calm in natural disasters.
